We're CONSTANTLY, ENDLESSLY being EXPECTED to fulfil OTHERS' GREAT expectations...
But where art thine?
Birth - cuteness... learning abilities...
School - academic results... excellence in extra-curricular activities...
Work - salary increments & climbing the corporate ladder...
Singlehood - boyfriend/girlfriend calibre & quality... Tying the knot...
Marriage - buying house... buying car... having kids...
Middle age - paying house and car loans... kids' education fees...
Old age - self-improvement... extended retirement ages...
Death - insurance... inheritance for younger generations...
Yes...
Even in death, people have expectations of you that you have to meet...
Isn't that scary?
BUT....
WHERE ARE YOUR OWN EXPECTATIONS?
It IS YOUR OWN life...
Why don't you have MORE say in it?
Why do you have to slave away your life trying SO HARD to meet everyone's demands?
I REALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND...
It's even come to the depressingly SAD point that it is NEWS to see singles having to hire social escorts to pose as their boyfriends/girlfriends to "fight off" all the negative remarks and questions being thrown at them during Lunar New Year...
And BOY it doesn't come cheap...
Rates can differ WIDELY according to who (they meet), where (they go), and what (they do)...

Don't people even realise that it's becoming a self-fulfiling prophecy?
The MORE parents and relatives pressure them about being single, the MORE they are straying from the passion of wanting an actual relationship!!!
