Oh! My.... Moco...

juz bought Hayami Mokomichi's new jdrama 'Oh! My Girl' yesterday and couldn't resist watching an ep after i finished 'Zettai Kareshi Special'...
which was another unsatisfactory ending that made me cry like mad...
actually i would have rather they not have the special if they are gonna make Night leave Riiko again...
i feel like i went through the same pain of them separating a second time...
and the worst thing is that the only reason both decided to separate again, is that they feel it's for the best for the other person...
what torturous mind does the scriptwriter have??!!!
both love each other so much, but they can't be together cos they think it's for the best for the other person!!!!???!!!!
i hate this kind of ending...
if one dies, i can't do anything about it...
but a mutual decision like this is unbearable...

i don't care if he breaks n Riiko becomes hurt, cos u'll only live once... n all humans die one day...
as for old age, Namikiri-san can always change the exterior skin and hair to fit his age... that's the whole point about robots right? customisation...
if Night dies first, then Riiko can still go on and love another...
if Riiko dies first, then Night will probably ask Namikiri-san to stop his system, and let him die together with Riiko...
isn't that the best scenario?
e only problem is that they can't have kids...
but i'm sure Namikiri-san can do something about that...

anywayz, i think Moco (Hayami Mokomichi) is growing on me...
cos i think he seems to really suit e characters he acts as!!!
or rather he's so good it's like he IS e character...
so far i've seen him in cool but endearingly dorky characters...
his looks are cool and handsome...
but his personality is so dorky and silly... in a cute way...
and he's being constantly manipulated and abused (not physically, but mentally and emotionally) by stubborn females in both shows...
Izawa Riiko (his girlfriend/ kanojo) in 'Zettai Kareshi', and now Sakurai Ann (his famous child celebrity niece) in 'Oh! My Girl'...

only thing i dislike abt 'Oh! My Girl' so far, is that he seems to smoke a lot in the show... not really puffing away, but always holding the burning cigarette....
pls dun tell me it's an attempt to make him look more like a matured man...
cos he doesn't look like a smoker no matter which way i look at it...
the cigarette juz seems like an unnecessary prop to me...
and i prefer his hair longer like in 'Zettai Kareshi'....

i think after i finish 'Oh! My Girl' and i move on to '1 litre of tears', my tear ducts are gonna be working OT...
juz seeing the title already makes me feel like its a sob-fest....
but apparently it's a great show...

Hayami Mokomichi : In the future "I'll be a doting parent." Drama Oh ! My Girl Press Conference

Actor Hayami Mokomichi (24), who plays the lead role in the drama Oh! My Girl (Nihon TV, starting on the 14th) attended its press conference in Tokyo on the 6th of October. His co-star is child actress Yoshida Riko (8). "I don't know if it's my strong point or not, but I like children. When I have children of my own, I'll be a doting parent," he said, revealing a surprising side to him.The story begins when the mobile phone novelist Yamamini coopera Kotaro (Mokomichi) is abruptly forced to live with his sister's (YOU) daughter, a famous child actress Sakurai Anzu (Yoshida)."She's such a huggable princess. She told me,"Wow you're so tall." And we hit it off after that," Mokomichi said, surprised himself at how well they got along. About his own child-like side ? "I love figurines. When I enter a toy store, a switch gets flipped. Call it child-like or should I say I have the heart of a young boy," he said, to laughter. If his children were to enter the world of show business in the future ? "I'll give them as much support as I can. If the opportunity rises, I'd like to work with them too," he replied. Kato Rosa (23) plays the role of a new manager. "I want both a boy and a girl, so until I get one of each, I'd continue giving birth," she said, laughing.

Interview with Mokomichi Hayami

Q. What did you think of Zettai Kareshi when you first heard of it ?

The first time I heard of it was "You're playing a robot-type of lover." Honestly, I was surprised (*laugh*) But when I read the original work, it was really interesting. I'm looking forward to portraying that image while the drama, up to now, is different from it. It's the first time I'm playing a robot and I feel excited about doing it.

Q. Do you have an image of how to play the role of a robot ?

When you hear robot, inevitably you're going to think of its jerky movements but the Tenjo Night I'm playing this time is an enhanced-performance humanoid robot. Regarding the movement, it's not really unnatural and it looks like I can move around more smoothly. Nevertheless, he's not perfectly human. He demonstrates superhuman ability and his thoughts and speech are a little off. How to show those robot-like parts, I think I'll have a feel for it during filming itself.

Q. What kind of character is Tenjo Night ?

He loves only one woman whole-heartedly, that type of man... no, robot I mean (*laugh*) As you would expect from a robot he doesn't have his own sense of self at first, everything is tied to 'loving Riko'.

Q. Before long, his sense of self is going to be awakened. How do you think you're going to play that part ?

Night is the type of robot who learns as he goes along, so as he comes into contact with Riko and Soushi, he will learn that he does not possess a human heart in himself. It's difficult to show much change in expression as he changes inside but I think it's good if for example, he is able to naturally show interest in things around him like a baby does when it starts to grow up.

Q. Night is very straight in showing his affection. Is there any part where he feels embarrassed ?

Not particularly. When he says "I love you" to Riko, or gladly does whatever she wants, these feelings are embodied in him already so being frank about it is important to him.

Q. What does Mokomichi-san think about Night being the perfect boyfriend ?

It's great how he puts in so much effort in everything, and I understand that. If I had someone I'm in love with, I don't think I can be as persistent as Night. But of course to be loved by someone, you have to give it a go with all your heart. Naturally, when you tell the other person that you love her, you want the other party to say the same thing back to you.

Q. What do you think a woman wants in an 'ideal boyfriend'?

I think everyone has their own ideal type and there's no universal ideal. Besides, I myself don't really know a lot of the things about the way women feel (*laugh*) But if I'm a woman, I'll be attracted to a man who puts in his utmost effort in everything he does.

Q. If you say that, then Night is Mokomichi-san's idea of an ideal lover, ne.

I would want anyone to look at me and think that way (*laugh*) At first, there were so many aspects lacking in him, but as he slowly grows up, I'll be happy if people started to think "It'll be great if such a robot can appear na." I'll work hard to be the Night than can tickle a woman's fancy !

Q. By the way, would Mokomichi-san want an "Absolute Girlfriend" robot ?

Well...., I'd want it ..... maybe (*laugh*)

Q. What sort of requirements will you program in this "Absolute Girlfriend" ?

For me, it's enough that she puts in the utmost effort in whatever she does. To soldier on, no matter what comes along, even if it feels hopeless, and working it out together, that's the ideal ne. When I have the time, I'll cook for myself but cooking by yourself and then eating by yourself is lonely... To cook with a girlfriend, that's what I yearn for ne. So, I think that's what I want, to cook together.

Q. Your impressions of Mizushima Hiro-san and Aibu Saki-san ?

This is the 3rd time I'm appearing together with Hiro-kun and the second time with Aibu-san. Hiro-kun is very serious but also a little spontaneous, he's interesting. Aibu-san is always full of energy and cheerful, a mood-maker during filming, livening things up. I get along with the both of them, so it looks like filming will be fun.

Q. Finally, please show your enthusiasm for Zettai Kareshi !

I think I will fully enjoy depicting a 'growing' robot who changes from his original configuration. The interweaving of a robot and human will create interesting parts and there'll also be the pain of love. This looks like it will turn out to be something new, so please watch it with anticipation !

Synopsis:

The company chooses temp worker Izawa Riiko 井沢利衣子 to take part in a 5-day free trial. At first, Riiko only sees Night as a household appliance. But when she finds out how deep Night's devotion to herself is, Riiko finds herself falling in love with him. Joining the love triangle is Asamoto Soushi 浅元創志, a distinguished young executive at her company who has feelings for her. -- Fuji TV

Review:
I think as the series unfolds, it's inevitable that you'll find yourself rooting for Night... As his devotion and love for Riiko is unfaltering even when she makes him angry and sad most of the time... The thing is that, as he is trying so hard to woo Rikko into loving him, he is also unconsciously wooing the audiences, and making THEM fall for him and his over-the-top ways...

At times, I feel myself really wanting to give Riiko a slap on her head to clear her view on things... when she's treating Night like dirt, when he's SUPER nice to her.. she seems to be the jerk to be in a lot of scenarios... and when she loses Night to her friend Mika, and she's still nonchalant, it's when it really got on my nerves...

Riiko seems to only realise Night's importance to her only when he's on the verge of danger or death... And it makes you wonder, can't she treat him better, even if she regards him as just an appliance? I'm sure you don't mistreat your appliances like her... even if they are but lifeless things...

This show spurred my interest in Hayami Mokomichi 速水もこみち....
nickname as Moco...
He's been around since 2002...
But haven't seen him much though...
And his tanned and muscular 186cm model frame looks ethereal against the rest of the cast... making him seem even MORE non-human... which is why he is perfect for the humanoid role...
But his smile baring all his white teeth and dimples is so endearing... cute... and bordering on the dorky side... which makes him more human...
He's in KEN-ON Agency, and that makes another funny coincidence for me...
Don't you think the cover photo of the show has Moco packaged like a KEN doll???
And his agency is called KEN-ON....
How coincidental is that?


To me, Night is just like a young kid, wanting to love and be loved back by the ones he loves...
And all his antics are ALL selfless, with the sole aim of making Riiko happy...
The ending is unsatisfying for me...
Cos I want Riiko to be with Night forever!!!!
well for me...
I think love has no boundaries....
So... I can accept them as a couple...
Just like Bella Swan and Ewdard Cullen (Twilight)....

Don't you just wish you have someone like Night in your life too?
