Basically like what the ad says it lengthens and voluminises your lashes upon each application... And the more layers you put on, the more volume and length your lashes have. For me, I think two layers is good enough for day, but three would be good for night, when you want thicker eye makeup.
For me I prefer the pure black one, even though it comes in two colors. It really makes your lashes look very voluminous...
