Ever felt that entering a pharmacy is like entering a war zone where guerilla warfare is necessary to survive the ordeal???
====================================
Well it happened to someone I know not long ago...
Someone not too young, not too old...
Someone not too slim, not too obese...
Upon entering the pharmacy, a salesperson absolutely pounced on her and started telling her to buy this slimming cream, buy that dieting tea/ pills, etc...
It was all very traumatising...
Especially for someone who just wanted to buy some medicine for a throbbing headache...
=====================================
Even if the person is not exactly slim, what makes it so reasonable for the salesperson to start bombarding her with such hurting and humilating (in some way) remarks???
Did she think that by doing so (hurting the pride of the person/ telling them they are fat/ telling them they are not the perfect size or shape that society deems as perfect) they'll get more business???
I'd think not.
=====================================
When did it become okay for the society to judge people so much by how they look, that they never even bothered about the person's feelings???
It's a very superficial society we have here...
And I dunno what's the obsession with slim and slender, hairless, smooth-skinned bodies are these days... As these ads seem to be everywhere on all sorts of media, papers, mags, TV...
It kinda irritates the hell out of me when people that look like stick insects or with chopsticks for arms and legs actually complain in public during lunch hours that they are so fat...
I mean what is the problem with them???
==================================
fuming....
Same Old problematic...

Oh yeah...I understand what you mean. Even when you are a stick the people in these shops will continue to sell these stuff to you. "Oh you have a tummy!" or "You have to get rid of those fats on your arms"! I mean, this is crazy. It seems we are prohibited from having an ounce of fat on us because it will make us unattractive. I think the sales person are just doing their job (hell, someone tried to sell me something and that someone is even bigger than me!) and we should give them credit for braving the crowds. I think they are there for a reason and that is for survival. They need to sell the products to raise a family. For shoppers on the other hand, buy when you have the need. If not, just walk confidently and look straight ahead. When you walk with confidence and with a purpose, they probably will not bother you. Out. Man, after playing Maggie, I'm hungry.
