A naturalistic dramedy about what happens when a student falls in love with a teacher.

Mirume is an art student in a small town. He falls for Yuri, twenty years his senior, who teaches lithography. But as her feelings dissipate, Mirume finds comfort in En, his classmate who abets his love affair while developing a crush on him - even as she herself is the secret obsession of Domoto, Mirume’s introverted best friend. When Yuri suddenly stops coming to school, Mirume is forced to seek her out at home, where he is startled to discover the banal realities of her life. In adapting Naocola Yamazaki’s eponymous novel, director Nami Iguchi put glamorous young Japanese stars in the roles of awkward and insecure students whose gestures reveal more than they say, in a film that eschews the sentimentality and melodrama of commercial Japanese romance films.

Asian Premiere

British comedy about a frustrated musician who turns to a self-help coach to thaw the frozen grief of his dysfunctional past.

Art is young, middle class and quite depressed. He is going through a quarter life crisis just when his girlfriend dumps him and he has to move back to live with his uncommunicative parents - who are far from thrilled with the idea. His equally damaged friends, volunteer work and music are no help to his growing anxiety so he turns to psychology guru Dr. Levi Ellington whose mode of treatment is to move in with the patient and shadow his every move. Poignant and occasionally dark, the film explores the increasingly common phenomena of grown-up children living at home, middle class depression and self-help.

Robert Pattinson, who plays Art, is perhaps best known for his role as the benevolent and hunky vampire in Twilight. Won a Special Jury Honorable Mention at Slamdance.

a glimpse of twilight at SIFF 2009....

Twilight Singapore is pleased to announce that Robert Pattinson’s film, ‘How To Be’ will be screened at the upcoming 22nd Singapore International Film Festival.

The 22nd Singapore International Film Festival will take place from 14th April-25th April 2009!

Twilight Singapore had a hand in ‘How To Be’ being showcased in the upcoming 22nd Singapore International Film Festival. We had written to the producer of the film, Mr. Justin Kelly, to submit the film last year.

So in December 2008, we told him that the SIFF was opened for film submissions for its festival in April 2009.

He immediately did so and now we can watch ‘How To Be’ in Singapore’s big screen, Shaw Lido 1!

For more details: http://twilightsingapore.com/2009/02/24/how-to-be-in-22nd-singapore-international-film-festival/

We need your support from all of you true Robert fans!!!

Love,
Izzati (http://twilightsingapore.com)
