The Frog vs The Monkey...

仙后公主们の individualised TVXQ-themed tees

After SO MANY MONTHS of planning, FINALLY we see the fruits of our planning and hard work...

We tolled for a few hours to finish these as my dear Tedheads had some unforeseen "handicap" when it came to painting... So I had to help her on her 2 tees...

But the products are GORGEOUS and I give ourselves MULTIPLE pats on the back for our FABULOUS work...

A mental note to use the same tried-and-tested formula for future fabric projects...

Our simple-yet-not-very-easy goal: To design a versatile fan tee which we can proudly and comfortably wear on a daily basis without being bugged by people on wearing a fan tee... Actually I wanted to design a tee with Jaejoong's tattoo on his back... And Tedheads wanted Junsu's LIPS LOVE tee, so we ended up designing a series of tees...

Our result: Our tees are not exactly fan tees STILL... but they do have that trait in them... Something that only real fans will know and understand...
However, they are versatile enough to be worn daily, without looking out of place or over-the-top...

Tedheads & my adaptation of "Junsu's LIPS LOVE" white tee

She added some subtle differences from Junsu's design...

Tedhead's "준수 ♥ graffiti" black tee

Original design was in red for white tee, but when purchasing the base tee, we decided to go black for this, and the design was switched to bronze to shine in style against the black...
Look out for surprises along the way...

My adaptation of "Jaejoong's tattoos" white tee

My #1 fave design (cos it make u feel like u r in his skin (or under his skin...) when u wear it... at least THAT was my intention when i designed it... ^_^)

A tee design that hopes to encompass most of Jaejoong's tattoos, except the wing-like ones which I've excluded...
But the cool thing is I can still add on stuff later on if he decides to add more body art to his body... ^_^

Ingredients (6 pancakes)

1 1/2 cups (200 grams) all purpose flour, plus additional for dusting the board
1/2 cup (113 gram) boiling water
2 tbsp. (30cc) cold water
4~6 green onions=scallions ( white and green parts). thinly sliced ( about 1 cup=225cc)
1 tbsp. (15cc) vegetable shortening or toasted sesame oil
salt
2 to 4 tablespoons salad oil

Instruction

Sift 1 1/2 cups (200 grams) all purpose flour into a large bowl. Stir in 1/2 cup (113 gram) boiling water until well blended; then add 2 tbsp. (30cc) cold water.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the dough is firm and elastic. Form the dough into a ball, dust it with flour, wrap it with plastic wrap, and let it rest on the surface for 30 minutes.
Roll the dough into a 7-inch cylinder and divide into 6 pieces.
Divide the scallions into 6 equal portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll out one piece of dough into a 7 1/2-inch circle.
Spread 1/2 teaspoon shortening on the dough to within 1/4 inch of the edge. Sprinkle the dough with a scant 1/4 teaspoon salt and one portion of the scallions. Then lightly press the salt and scallions into the dough so that they won't fall of when you fold the dough.
Fold the dough in thirds, and roll the dough up loosely from one short end like a jelly roll.
Turn the coil round side up, dust a little flour on it, flatten it slightly with your fingers, and roll it into a 5-inch circle. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling ingredients.
Heat an iron skillet over medium heat; then add 2 teaspoon oil. When the skillet is hot, put a pancake for 2 or 3 seconds and immediately flip over the pancake and cook the other side until golden brown. (By flipping the side immediately, both sides get some oil on the surface) Brown both sides.
Serve hot with soy sauce.

had the most creative version of an egg roll + egg crepe + pancake + popiah last wkend at the Singapore Food Fair... Uncle Choo's....

i thought the egg roll reminded me of onion pancakes we eat in Chinese restaurants so i thought i should go find the recipe for it...

but my mum's oredi made me try cooking the salad egg roll we ate that day...

it was a burning success...

i used just eggs, with some sesame seed oil, some fried onion cut into small bits & mixed together for the egg roll... as for the salad filling, we used raw & freshly shredded carrots, meng kuang, & purple cabbage... topped with loads of crushed roasted peanuts, chicken floss, japanese mayonaise & bulldog tonnkatsu sauce... before rolling into an egg roll & slicing it up into bite size... i ate mine without slicing it up... always tastier when u eat with ur hands... ^_^

it's a SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT taste from what we ate...

but it's close cos we didn't use sweet chilli sauce and ketchup... we used bulldog tonnkatsu sauce... n the egg roll skin i didn't use any flour... it's 100% eggs only... ^_^

though my bro didn't think too highly of eating raw vegetables instead of the cooked meng kuang like in normal popiahs...

[Recipe] Chili for a Crowd

Chili for a Crowd

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 onions, chopped
2 bell peppers, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
4 cloves garlic, chopped
2 pounds ground beef
1 6-ounce can tomato paste
1/4 cup chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 12-ounce bottles lager beer
2 19-ounce cans kidney beans
1 28-ounce can diced tomatoes
kosher salt and black pepper
corn bread
toppings (such as sour cream, radishes, scallions, avocados, jalapenos, cilantro, Cheddar, and toasted pumpkin seeds)

Directions

Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onions, bell peppers, and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft, 6 to 8 minutes.
Add the beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until no longer pink, 5 to 7 minutes. Add the tomato paste, chili powder, and cumin and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.
Add the beer, beans, the tomatoes and their juices, 2 1/2 teaspoons salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with the corn bread and toppings as desired.

but i guess it's something i WOULD wear...
especially in the office when i do editing...
where it's SUPER COLD @ 19 degrees celsius in a SMALL room...
but i can't remember if the price was RM265=SGD107.80 or RM295=SGD120...
if it's RM265 it seems a good price, since the original price of the BANC hoodies at the Korean online shop are around RM257...

any suggestions?
